Some 45 years ago I ran an advertising agency.
Nanette was one of our Commercial Artists.
She joined us whilst she waited to adopt a baby via the NSW government state adoption agency.
Each few months the adoption people would visit her home (and her banking records) to check all was suitable.
And then there would be absolute silence until the next visit.
Nanette would become momentarily upset – but then regain her firm conviction that she would soon hold her baby.
She had faith.
This went on for quite some years…….
Eventually, Nanette decided to leave us, thus making more “space” for the baby.
She agreed to first let everyone else in our Art Department have their holidays…..so she stayed on another 4 months.
And then it was time for her to leave.
We arranged a big party for her last working day – but on the Thursday night – just hours before she was to leave the business – Faith (in the form of an adoption agency staffer) phoned her at home to say that her baby was ready and waiting to be picked up from Dubbo Base
Hospital and she had just 48 hours to take delivery of her precious child……..
Nanette’s strong and consistent faith paid off.
Not according to her schedule – but according to Divine schedule.
