EVER WONDERED WHY TODAY IS CALLED ‘GOOD’ FRIDAY?

After all, it celebrates a terrible injustice!

In olden times, ‘goode’ used to mean ‘holy’ or ‘sacred’.

Even today in many countries the day is called “sacred Friday”.

But the church still sticks to the ‘olde ways’ and so it still calls it Good Friday!

Sad really as that ‘old word’ simply reflects old thinking…..

Whilst the world is finally moving to accept the equality of women and a more inspired ‘spiritual wholeness’, the Old Church continues in its Old Ways of promoting hell, purgatory and a belief in the supremacy of men.

Let’s celebrate today as a GOOD Friday and instead of honouring the spirit within one man, beautiful and inspiring though he surely was, let’s honour the Spirit within ALL people instead!

Many blessings, Les
